Pracownia została utworzona w 2002 roku. Do roku 2020 kierownikiem Pracowni był jej założyciel, prof. Jakub Z. Lichański. Obecnie kierowniczką jest dr Agnieszka Szurek. Celem Pracowni są badania nad historią i teorią retoryki oraz krytyką retoryczną, a także popularyzacja retorycznych metod badawczych.
The Laboratory was created in 2002. Till 2020 the Head of the Laboratory was its founder, Professor Jakub Z. Lichański. From 2020 the Head is Agnieszka Szurek. The mission of Laboratory are both research and popularization of rhetorical research methods.

The Laboratory maintains partnerships with academic institutions in Poland and abroad. Together, we develop projects and foster scholarly collaboration.

Arlene Holmes-Henderson
Arlene is Professor of Classics and Public Policy at Durham University where she leads projects which focus on the long history of oracy. A specialist in ancient rhetoric for contemporary school learners, Arlene provides expert advice to policymakers in the UK and internationally. She leads the rhetoric strand of professor Edith Hall’s ‘Aristotle Beyond the Academy’ project and appears regularly on tv, radio and in the national press.
In 2023 she was made MBE by King Charles III in recognition of her Services to Education and in 2024 she was elected a member of Academia Europaea.

Polsko-chorwackie warsztaty retoryczne
W 2023 roku zostały zorganizowane polsko-chorwackie warsztaty analizy retorycznej. Organizatorkami warsztatów były dr Ewa Modrzejewska, dr Elanmari Pletikos Olof z Uniwersytetu w Zagrzebiu i dr Agnieszka Szurek. Warsztaty odbywały się w języku angielskim, online, i zakończyły się przedstawieniem wyników badań przez studenckie zespoły badawcze.
Warsztaty były kontynuacją rezultatu O7 projektu RHEFINE. Prezentacje z warsztatów można obejrzeć tutaj.
In 2023 a Polish-Croatian rhetorical workshop for students was organized by Ewa Modrzejewska, Agnieszka Szurek and Elenmari Pletikos Olof form the University of Zagreb. The workshop was online, in English, and was crowned with presenting research results by students' research teams. The workshop was a continuation of O7 output from the RHEFINE project. The presentations are available here.
