Zajmuje się interdyscyplinarnymi badaniami z zakresu retoryki. Ukończyła studia polonistyczne (1994) i filozoficzne (1996) na Uniwersytecie Śląskim. Polonistyczna praca magisterska dotyczyła retorycznej krytyki esejów “Barbarzyńca w ogrodzie” Zbigniewa Herberta, filozoficzna praca magisterska dotyczyła hyletycznego tworzywa świata w koncepcji Pierre’a Teilharda de Chardin. Doktorat na podstawie rozprawy o retoryce w systemie cnót Petrycego z Pilzna obroniła w 2001 roku. Habilitacja poświęcona była krytyczno-retorycznym badaniom polskich finałowych debat przedwyborczych. Obecnie pracuje nad zagadnieniami genologii retorycznej
Autorka, współautorka i redaktorka czterech podręczników do kształcenia retorycznego: Retoryka (PWN 2008), Erystyka, czyli o sztuce prowadzenia sporów. Komentarze do Schopenhauera (PWN 2009), Ćwiczenia z retoryki (PWN 2010) i Retoryka negocjacji. Scenariusze (Poltext 2018). Wiceprzewodnicząca Polskiego Towarzystwa Retorycznego. Autorka kilkudziesięciu publikacji naukowych poświęconych retoryce, w tym monografii autorskiej Retoryka debaty. Polskie wielkie debaty przedwyborcze 1995-2010 (PWN 2015) i monografii zbiorowej pod jej redakcją 20 lat polskich telewizyjnych debat przedwyborczych (UW 2016).
She is engaged in interdisciplinary research in the field of rhetoric. She completed her Polish Studies degree (1994) and Philosophy degree (1996) at the University of Silesia. Her Polish Studies master's thesis focused on the rhetorical critique of Zbigniew Herbert's essays in 'Barbarian in the Garden,' while her Philosophy master's thesis delved into the hylomorphic substance of the world within Pierre Teilhard de Chardin's concept. She defended her doctoral thesis on rhetoric within Petrycy of Pilzno's system of virtues in 2001. Her habilitation was dedicated to critical-rhetorical studies of Polish final pre-election debates. Currently, she is working on topics related to rhetorical genre studies.
She is the author, co-author, and editor of four textbooks for rhetorical education: "Rhetoric" (PWN 2008), "Eristics, or the Art of Argumentation. Commentaries on Schopenhauer" (PWN 2009), "Rhetoric Exercises” (PWN 2010), and "Rhetoric of Negotiations. Scenarios" (Poltext 2018). She serves as the Vice-Chair of the Polish Rhetorical Society. She has authored dozens of scientific publications dedicated to rhetoric, including her own monograph "Rhetoric of Debate: Polish Major Pre-Election Debates 1995-2010" (PWN 2015) and an edited collective monograph "20 Years of Polish Televised Pre-Election Debates" (UW 2016).
